Sherri Shepherd and Lamar Sally remain forever tied.
A judge ruled Tuesday that Shephard is legally the mother of their now 8-month-old baby, who was born via surrogate and was already on the way when the exes split up. The ruling mandates that Shephard's name will be on the birth certificate and she's still under contract to pay expenses incurred by the "embryo carrier," according to the court order obtained by E! News.
"Justice was served," Sally's attorney, Tiffany Palmer, tells E!. "The court found that the baby has two legal parents and those people are the two people who conceived him, Lamar Sally and Sherri Shepherd."

'The court upheld what we believe is and should be the law in Pennsylvania," Palmer continued. "If you set out to conceive a child through assisted reproduction and enter into contracts to do so, you cannot just walk away from your legal parental responsibility because you changed your mind."
A rep for Shepherd, who did not appear in court today, had no comment.
The former host of "The View" and Sally separated on April 16, 2014, according to the petition for divorce that Sally filed the following month. At the time, he also asked for custody of the baby on the way. Lamar Sally Jr. was born July 28, 2014.

"It's very public and it's very painful," Shephard said on "The Wendy Williams Show" last September. "You know for me, I'm not Tori [Spelling] and Dean [McDermott], I don't get paid to talk about my life, so when people tweet me I always say, 'Go to Wendy, she knows what's going on. You can ask Wendy about my life.'"
"There was some additional evidence put on the record involving some video clips involving Ms. Shepherd," Craig Bluestein, a legal representative appointed to represent Lamar Jr., told People after Tuesday's ruling, noting footage of Shepherd "expressing excitement over her and Lamar going to have a baby through the help of a surrogate carrier with no genetic connection."
"I feel very good," Bluestein said. "I think little LJ, who is not yet one year old, needed some protection. Justice was served today."
