‘Hunger Games' Theme Park Attractions Coming to U.S. and China

"Hunger Games" fans in the U.S. and China may get to find out for themselves if the odds are forever in their favor.

Lionsgate confirmed Monday that the blockbuster movie franchise has been licensed for development in a theme park in Atlanta and an indoor entertainment center in Hengqin, China.

The New York Times, which earlier reported the news, said the Atlanta park is targeted to open by 2019, while the Chinese center aims to open by late 2018.

Fans can already interact with the story, featuring Jennifer Lawrence as heroine Katniss Everdeen, through attractions such as the travelling display "The Hunger Games: The Exhibition," which is now in Discovery Times Square in New York.

The franchise's finale, "Mockingjay Part 2," is set to hit the big screen this month.
