Michelle Obama Joins Snapchat, Teases ‘Carpool Karaoke' Appearance

Obama promises followers an inside look at life in the White House

Michelle Obama hit a social media high note Tuesday by joining Snapchat as she prepped for an appearance on "Carpool Karaoke," the popular segment on "The Late Late Show with James Corden."

The account "MichelleObama" is up and running, and Obama's team made the announcement on her official Twitter account with a screen grab complete with a hair flip emoji.

The first lady's inaugural snap story shows her joking with Corden and previews an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." In her snaps, some of which came with her own geotag, she also did the Dab with young mentees.

Obama's team gave a hint about what users who follow the account can expect in a post on the first lady's Medium account.

"By following the First Lady on Snapchat, you will see stories of the 62 million girls around the world who aren’t in school and find ways you can take action, the Medium post said. "You will learn more about ways to stay active and healthy — plus see the White House Kitchen Garden from planting to harvest."

The first lady will be using Snapchat to chronicle her trip to Liberia, Morocco, and Spain next week as part of the Let Girls Learn campaign, which aims to expand educational opportunities for girls around the world, according to the White House. Also on the docket: Guest appearances from actresses and advocates, like Meryl Streep, and snaps with the Obama's two dogs, Sunny and Bo.

At the White House Correspondents' Dinner earlier this year, the President joked about using his wife's Snapchat to promote Obamacare. A pre-taped parody video showed the President using the first lady's phone to post a snap saying "Obamacare is great and it's really working. Sign up now," but using scary filters.

But so far, there's been no husband hacking of her official Snapchat.
