Beastie Boys' Mike D and Ad-Rock to Write Memoir

So whatcha whatcha whatcha want? How about a Beastie Boys memoir?

The surviving members of the famed hip-hop trio, Michael "Mike D" Diamond and Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz, have inked a deal with Spiegel &Grau, an imprint of Random House, to pen a book celebrating a history of the Beasties.

Per the New York Times, in keeping with their irreverent sense of humor and their penchant for pushing the boundaries of music with a kaleidoscope of sounds and samples, the rappers plan to do something similar for the genre of autobiography--by combining an oral history with images and ruminations on pop culture and their place within it.

"The first words out of Mike's mouth were, 'I don't want to do a straight memoir,'" Luke Janklow, the band's agent, told the Times.

The Beasties' work will also include contributions from a variety of other writers and will presumably include plenty of reflections on the contributions of the group's beloved late cofounder Adam "MCA" Yauch, who sadly lost his battle with cancer last year.

The yet-to-be titled tome is set for release in fall 2015.
