‘American Idol' Auditions Announced

Just a short time removed from Kris Allen's coronation as the new "American Idol," the search for his successor is about to begin.

Auditions for the ninth season of "Idol" will kick off June 14 in Boston, FOX announced on Tuesday.

"Once again, hopefuls will have the incredible opportunity to audition in cities across the country to become the next 'American Idol,'" the network said in a statement.

Auditions will be held in the following cities:

Atlanta: June 18
Los Angeles: June 30
Orlando: July 9
Denver: July 14
