Tony Parker said hoops have become a “refuge” to help him deal with the breakup of his marriage to Eva Longoria two months ago.
"The most important thing is to stay strong mentally, even if these are very difficult times," the San Antonio Spurs baller told the French newspaper Le Parisien. "I've take refuge in basketball because that's what I've done best since my youth."
Parker, 28, and Longoria, 35, each filed walking papers in November, amid rumors the “Desperate Housewives” star had stumbled on inappropriate text messages between her French-born hubby and another woman. Parker has denied being unfaithful.
"It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce," Longoria tweeted in announcing the split. "We love each other deeply and pray for each other's happiness."
Parker told Le Parisien Thursday he was still struggling to “make sense of things.”
But he said he appreciated support from coaches, teammates, family and the city of San Antonio.
"You have to know how to keep things in perspective," he told the newspaper, according translated excerpts posted by People and Us mag.

"I am, first of all, a basketball player. I've done this for so very long,” he said. “For me, it's been essential to be successful on the court."
