Stars Sport Parental Arm Candy At Golden Globes

At the 2009 Golden Globes, it wasn’t just about having a beautiful woman, a strapping young man or priceless piece of jewelry on your arm – many of Hollywood’s biggest stars sported bling of the familial kind Sunday night – their parents.

Tom Cruise, Miley Cyrus, “Gossip Girl’s” Blake Livley, and “Entourage” stars Kevin Connolly and Jeremy Piven all had their parents on their arms at the Globes.

Not only did Tom bring his mother, Mary Lee Mapother, but he also brought father-in-law, Martin Holmes, to the awards show.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Tom had revealed his parental double date on Friday’s “The View,” telling the ladies, “I’m going to go with [Katie’s] father and my mother.”

“You’re not going to go to her closing?” Barbara Walters asked, referring to Katie’s final night on Broadway in “All My Sons.”

“No, we talked about it and Kate said, ‘You go,’” Tom noted.

Though Katie was in New York City Sunday, she was set to join her husband, mother-in-law and father for a post-show celebration.

“She’s going to meet me afterwards,” Tom said of his wife. “She’ll fly and join me and we’ll be at the parties together.”

And it wasn’t just the stars with their parents — Susan Sarandon reversed the trend, bringing son Jack Robbins to the ceremony.
