Parents are urging radio stations to refrain from broadcasting Britney Spears’ new single, “If U Seek Amy.”
According to Billboard, who first reported the story, the Parents Television Counsel has claimed the pop star’s third song from her album, “Circus,” “would violate the broadcast indecency law” if it were played before 10 PM.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, parents have been up in arms over the song’s chorus, “All of the girls and all of the boys are looking to… If you seek Amy,” which could be heard as “F*** me.”
PTC President Tim Winter told Billboard, however, the lyrics require no interpretation.

“There is no misinterpreting the lyrics to this song, and it’s certainly not about a girl named Amy,” he said. “It’s one thing for a song with these lyrics to be included on a CD so that fans who wish to hear it can do so, but it’s an entirely different matter when this song is played over the publicly owned airwaves, especially at a time when children are likely to be in the listening audience.”

The PTC has launched campaigns against a host of entertainers and shows since its formation.
Most recently they celebrated the cancellation of CBS’ “Swingtown,” which was announced last week.

“On behalf of the nation’s children and families, the PTC applauds and celebrates the removal of ‘Swingtown’ from the public airwaves,” the PTC said in a statement last week.
