It worked: Tracy Morgan has joined the twitterverse.
The grassroots effort spearheaded by celeb-stalking site OMGICU succeeded in getting the "30 Rock" funnyman to sign up for a Twitter account and he posted his first tweet this afternoon. We couldn't be happier.
"Welcome To Tracy Morgans World..." he tweeted.
The well-documented comedic prowess of the "30 Rock" funnyman has been preserved on television and in film -- but shockingly before today his genius had yet to be showcased on Twitter.
Fans of Morgan stood up for their right to have round-the-clock unadulterated access to the comic.
An Internet campaign started by OMGICU yesterday was aimed at getting the funnyman to bring to Twitter the same zippy one-liners and hilarious non-sequitors for which he's famous. And, thanks to them, we'll now get to enjoy digestible 140-character Morganisms on the regular.
Think of the possibilities from the man whose alter ego on "30 Rock," Tracy Jordan, has brought us such gems as:
- "I am a stabbing robot"
- "I may hug people too hard and get lost at malls, but I'm not an idiot."
- "I love this cornbread so much, I want to take it behind a middle school and get it pregnant."
- "Live every week like Shark Week"
- "Tell her that you want her privates and your privates to do a high five."
It's magical. Clearly, the Twacy.org effort is a marketing ploy by OMGICU, but we're psyched.
