Fantasia Released from Hospital After Overdose

911 call also released: "slowly losing consciousness"

Former “American IdolFantasia Barrino has been released from a North Carolina hospital, two days after overdosing on aspirin and a sleep aid in what police have called a suicide attempt, E! News reported.

"She has been lifted up by the outpouring of love and support from her fans," manager Brian Dickens told E! in a statement Wednesday. "She is more committed than ever to her daughter and her work because they are her heart, her soul and inspiration."

News of the season three "Idol"-winner's hospital exit came hours after the release of the Monday 911 call from an unidentified man who said he was outside her home.

On the tape, which was obtained by People mag and other websites, a male voice said the singer was “slowly losing consciousness,” after having ingested a bottle of aspirin.

Barrino was “half-way” awake and breathing, and her family had put her in the shower to keep her awake, the man told an emergency responder.

“Tell them to take her out of the shower and turn the water off please. Do that right now,” the operator said.

Barrino was later taken to the Charlotte hospital and treated overnight for overdosing on “aspirin and a sleep aid,” according to her manager.

Dickens told CNN Tuesday that Barrino overdosed the same day she read a court complaint by a woman who has accused the singer of destroying her marriage by having a year-long affair with her husband and allegedly making a sex tape with him.

Through her manager, Barrino has acknowledged the affair, but denied being a homewrecker. She has not directly addressed the sex tape claim.

"Fantasia is heartbroken and is sorry for any pain she may have caused," Dickens said on Tuesday, adding that “she was totally overwhelmed by the lawsuit and the media attention.”

Cops with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department have termed the incident a suicide attempt in their report, according to People.

Since performing on "Idol,” Barrino has gone on to record albums and star in “The Color Purple” on Broadway.

Her latest album, "Back to Me," hits shelves Aug. 24.
