Mick Jagger to Take Stage at Grammys

Stones singer has only performed once on the show, by satellite

Mick Jagger isn't getting a Grammy, but the Grammys are getting Mick.

The Rolling Stones legend will perform live at the Feb. 13 event at LA's Staples Center as part of a tribute to gospel great Solomon Burke, who died last year. Instead of Keith, Charlie and Ronnie, Jagger will be backed by Raphael Saadiq and his band.

"He's asked me not to go into detail about what he's doing, but I think when you see the performance, it will make a lot sense," show producer Ken Ehrlich told the Associated Press. "I think it was the idea of the performance that was intriguing to him and really brought him here."

Jagger, 67, has only performed at the Gramys once, and that was by satellite when the Stones on a lifetime achievement award.

"We did a remote from London, and it was at least three o'clock there," said Ehrlich. "I think they had been celebrating a little time before we went on camera," he said. "It was quite a moment."

Also performing on the show, which airs at 8 p.m. EST on CBS, will be Rihanna, Cee Lo Green, Gwyneth Paltrow and the Muppets.
