LiLo to “Celeb Rehab” Bound Dad: Just Shut Up

Just when they seemed to be getting along

The thaw in relations between Lindsay Lohan and her big-mouthed papa seems to be over.

Hours after word came out that Michael Lohan will appear on "Celebrity Rehab" for anger management, his comeback-minded daughter said she wishes he would keep a lower profile. The pair have fought for years, but in recent months had been seen together.

"I am sorry that my father has continually chosen to speak publicly about our relationship, my mother, my siblings, and my professional team," Lindsay Lohan told Radaronline. "I am working through my recovery day-by-day and find his public media bouts unnecessary and damaging."

Lindsay Lohan is due in court next Thursday to answer to charges she stole a $5,000 necklace days after checking out of court-ordered rehab. Michael Lohan has been outspoken about trying to bring his broken family together and get his 24-year-old daughter back on track. But given his history or recording and then leaking phone conversations and showing up uninvited at functions involving his daughter, the actress seems to be dreading his next foray into the D-list limelight.

Lohan remains on probation for a 2007 drunken driving case. She was sent to rehab by a Beverly Hills judge after she violated probation for a DUI and tested positive for alcohol. The actress, who also starred in "The Parent Trap" and "Freaky Friday," was first busted May 26, 2007, when she drove a Mercedes-Benz into a hedge along Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. Two months later, she was arrested again in Santa Monica on suspicion of DUI and possession of cocaine.

She agreed to plead no contest and was sentenced to a day in jail and three years' probation. That term was extended by a year for not completing alcohol-education classes on schedule.

In July, she missed a required probation hearing before Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel, saying her passport was stolen while she was at the Cannes Film Festival, and the judge sentenced her to 90 days in jail. She spent 13 days behind bars before being released again. As part of her sentence, she was ordered to rehab.
