Kathy Ireland became a "hot topic" on Sunday night after some called out her interviewing skills during ABC's live pre-Oscar telecast from the red carpet – but Dame Elizabeth Taylor is coming to her defense.
"I heard that some scum magazines, print and internet trashed Kathy Ireland on Oscar Red Carpet night," Elizabeth Tweeted on Wednesday. "These rags said, to quote them, "She was either stoned or drunk and looked pregnant" – what???? They must be the ones on drugs."
The legendary actress was very pleased with Kathy's red carpet skills.
"I have never seen anyone epitomize glamour and grace and professionalism like she did," Elizabeth continued in a series of more Tweets. "I am boiling to the point of eruption at the injustice of those statements."
Following the Oscars, Kathy defended herself on Twitter, writing, "Laughed @ being hot topic on twitter 2night. So many mis understood that the J.O.Y. was being invited 2 co host."
The former Sports Illustrated model even dispelled rumors that she was expecting.
"Some say I looked pregnant.LOL! Not true…others say I was drinking…would LOL if it were not so sad. Just excited 2 be involved. Grateful," she Tweeted, and replied to another of her detractors, saying, "No meds or alcohol Angel===just J.O.Y.!"
