- Make a list of all the places you have important papers piled up
- Decide what you will transport papers in for shredding, as all papers are dumped into big bins at the shredder site
- Remember you will be asked to keep your boxes and containers
- Make piles: recycle, shred, save
- No need to shred newspapers or magazines
- No 3-ring binders
- No Cardboard
- No hardcover books
- No plastics of any kind
- Maintain tax records for at least 6 years
- Plan to get to the Great Shredder Event early
- When you arrive, simply get in line WITHOUT your papers
- When you get to the front of the line, volunteers will go with you to your car to get your papers
