Lake Tobias Wildlife Park in Halifax, Pennsylvania is celebrating their 50th anniversary this summer, so now's the perfect time to pack up the family for a trip to this charming, family-owned park near Harrisburg!
Educational information, shows and more than 500 animals -- including lions, tigers, bears, monkeys, ostriches, peacocks, alligators, chickens snakes, lizards sloths, lemurs, tropical birds and more -- are presented at the 150-acre park. Although the safari tours are the most popular attraction, you’ll also find traditional zoo exhibits, a reptile house and a special petting zoo for the little tykes.
On the safari tour, you’ll get up close and personal to wild and exotic animals from around the world in your open-air cruiser as you roll across the rolling hills and woodlands. You’ll even have the opportunity to feed emus, llamas, water buffalo, deer and more from the comfort of your seat! After you work up an appetite meandering through the park, visit the concession stands for plenty of yummy grub for humans.

INSIDER TIPS
Plan accordingly – Allow at least one hour for the zoo exhibits, another hour for the safari tour, approximately 40 minutes for the reptile exhibit and 20 minutes or so for the petting zoo. The last safari tour departs one hour before closing. To view the larger alligators at their hungriest, feeding time is usually on Sundays at @4 p.m.
Discounts – Present your Military ID for free park admission and safari tour. Discount applies for all active duty military, reserves, retired military personnel and members of the National Guard. Military discount does not include family members. Group discounts available.
Bring a picnic – Small family picnics can be accommodated on numerous non-reserved tables around the park. For larger groups of 15 or more, pavilion reservations can be made in advance for a small fee.
Catch-and-Release - Catch-and-release fishing (bass, bluegills and trout) is offered in the main lake during park hours if you supply your own bait and rod.
