Johnny Depp Returning to “Jump Street”

It looks as though "21 Jump Street's" biggest alumnus is going to give his blessing to the big screen revamp.

Johnny Depp, who rose to fame on the 80s cop series about a bunch of babyfaced officers used to infiltrate high schools, has reportedly agreed to shoot a cameo in the new movie version, which is set to star Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum.

Hill, who has been shepherding the project to such an extent that he even co-wrote the script (with "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World co-writer Michael Bacall), claims that the approach to the TV version is not going to be a "Charlie's Angels" at all.

"It's an entirely new imagination of what '21 Jump Street' is," Hill said in an interview with MTV. "We're not doing a spoof whatsoever. It will be crazy characters that are in very unreal circumstances sometimes."

Hill and the gang are currently shooting "Jump Street" in New Orleans. No word on whether Depp will be revisiting the role of Tom Hanson, or whether he will be popping up in some other winking bit part.

Or only request to Hill: Some Peter DeLuise love? Huh?
