DiCaprio In Talks for Tarantino's Slave Revenge Film, “Django Unchained”

Leonard DiCaprio has wisely always tried to work with the biggest and/or best directors in Hollywood, and it looks like he might be about to add another notch to his gun belt.

DiCaprio is in talks to play the villainous slave owner (as opposed to the other kind), Calvin Candie, in Quentin Tarantino's "Django Unchained," reported Deadline. Candie is the owner of Candyland, a club in Mississippi where guests are "entertained" with black female sex slaves and black men pitted against one another in death matches.

Rumor's of DiCaprio's involvement surfaced shortly after talk that Will Smith was all but signed to play the lead, Django, one of Candie's former slaves who becomes a skilled gunfighter with the help of a German dentist-turned-bounty hunter, to be played by Christoph Waltz. Django then goes after his ex-master to extract revenge and reclaim his wife. But now it appears that Smith's involvement is not as secure as ti once seemed.

There's speculation that Smith's now a longshot, and frankly, it doesn't sound like his kind of film. Instead names like Idris Elba, Jamie Foxx and Chris Tucker (who starred in QT's "Jackie Brown") are being floated around. Our vote's for Elba--how about you?
