Damon and Affleck Could Be Working Their Magic Again

There won't be a reunion of Martin and Lewis, Bert and Ernie or Beavis and Butthead, but one buddy team is getting back together - Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

The pair are in negotiations for a first-look producing deal at Warner Bros. Variety.com reports that a formal announcement is expected within days. The childhood friends have worked together recently -- most notably on "Project Greenlight" with Chris Moore.

But naturally everyone thinks of the two as the writers and actors in 1997's "Good Will Hunting." The Oscar that year didn't just go to them for their original screenplay. It went for the personification of the Hollywood dream in two over-the-moon newcomers. The applause when their name was announced was staggering, making it one of those great Oscar moments that actually really lives up to the hype.

They are no longer newcomers to the Hollywood game. They are the establishment. But the decision to work together is a reminder that friendship can last in Tinseltown and that at times, it can be a lot of fun.
