No Runny Eggs, Please

Good news for egg lovers.

Despite the recent outbreak of salmonella in eggs, officials say properly handled and refrigerated, thoroughly cooked eggs are safe.

If eggs are cooked at a temperature of 160 degrees, the bacteria will be destroyed and safe for immediate consumption.

Runny, sunny-side up eggs are not safe, as salmonella may still be alive.

However, that doesn't mean you should cook & eat eggs on the big recall list - those still need to be thrown out or returned.
