Weaver Gets Retrospective About Brutal Knee Injury

Leonard Weaver’s second season in Eagles green came to an abrupt end Sunday when his leg was turned backwards on his first rush of the season. It was a gruesome injury that made everyone from fans watching at home to players at the Linc a bit queasy.

The worst fears were confirmed Monday when coach Andy Reid said that his Pro Bowl fullback had suffered a “very severe ACL tear” that would require surgery.

The Eagles did what they had to do and they placed Weaver (and starting center Jamaal Jackson) on the Injured Reserve list.

Weaver, a very spiritual and friendly guy, turned to Twitter to let Eagle fans know that he appreciated all the support and that he was optimistic that he would return to the field.

I’ll let Dream Weaver’s series of tweets do the speaking here:

Hey ladies and gentlemen, I first want to say that it's a true blessing to have so much support coming from the fans and family.

I'm currently chillin an resting thinking about my next move.

The injury could have been worst then what it was and Gods protection shielded me and guided me all the way.

I ll be back, I'll be back better than ever. For now let's cheer on our brothers on green on the field. They need is.

Those guys played their hurts out. Eagles fans it will happen.
