Andy Reid's Son Commits to Temple Football

This football season, Big Red won’t be the only Reid Philly sports fans will be watching on the gridiron.

Andy’s youngest son, Spencer Reid, has committed to Temple University’s football team -- an enthusiastic program with a new coach and promises of success.

The young Reid played on both sides of the ball as Harriton High School Ram, suiting up as both a running back and linebacker. They have him listed at 5-foot-11 and 195 pounds. He reportedly rushed for 960 yards and 15 touchdowns last season.

Temple football is turning into a family affair. Britt Reid, Spencer’s older brother, is a graduate assistant at Temple, according to Philly.com.

Things have panned out pretty well for the standout. Steve Addazio, Temple’s football coach, didn’t offer him a scholarship until he visited Reid at his high school, the article reports.

It’s not hard to see why Addazio was impressed. As Spencer told the paper, “[Addazio] sounded like he wanted tough guys there, and that’s what I’m about.”
