Eagles Set to Sign Trent Edwards

The former Jaguars and Bills quarterback appears set to sign with the Eagles

As first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Philadelphia Eagles appear set to sign free agent quarterback Trent Edwards to a one-year contract, likely signaling the end of the Vince Young era in town.

The Eagles have worked out Edwards and general manager Howie Roseman told Philadelphia Inquirer beat writer Jonathan Tamari earlier Thursday regarding Edwards "that's something that may come about pretty quickly here. Asked whther that meant a signing would be imminent, he responded "that's fair."

Edwards, a 2007 graduate of Stanford University and third round draft pick, last played in 2010 for Buffalo and Jacksonville before being cut in 2011 by the Raiders. He has 33 career starts. Details of the contract have not been disclosed.
