Another early Eagles draft pick’s reign in Philadelphia has come to an unceremonious end.
Offensive tackle Winston Justice, the Eagles second-round pick (39th overall) in the 2006 NFL Draft, was traded to the Colts Wednesday. The Eagles and Colts will swap sixth-round picks -- the Eagles move up 15 spots -- to complete the deal.
At his best Justice started 29 games at right tackle from 2009 to 2010 until a knee injury sidelined him and opened the door for Todd Herremans to take his job on Michael Vick’s blind side.
At his worst Justice never fully lived up to expectations.
Justice appeared in 47 games total for the Eagles and despite some good moments he will forever be remembered for his first career start when he -- mostly -- allowed Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora and Giants defenders to sack Donovan McNabb 12 times.
Cutting ties with Justice should free up some cap space for the Birds.

Along with shipping out Justice, the Eagles also inked restricted free agent Antonio Dixon to a one-year deal. Dixon has 62 tackles, three sacks and a blocked kick while playing 35 games for the Eagles over the past three seasons.
Dixon, a noted run stuffer, played just four games for the Eagles last season after tearing his triceps in Week 4.
