NBC10 'Experts' Pick E-A-G-L-E-S Over J-E-T-S

With the Eagles on the brink of playoff elimination will our football-picking "Experts" could be on the brink of giving up on the Eagles.

    But, not this week.

More than 57 percent of our NBC10 “Experts” have the E-A-G-L-E-S Eagles beating the J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets.

“The Eagles will win this game 24-17,” said reporter Tim Furlong. “LeSean McCoy will steal the show with a good game after last week's not-so-stellar performance. I think the Eagles might win out this season, which will of course mean -- like it or not – Andy (Reid) stays for another season.”

Birds Nest blogger Drew Magary also sees an Eagles victory:

“I'm picking the Eagles, and I deeply regret this pick already. EAGLES 15, JETS 10.”

Fellow Drew, our web guru, has it 31-28.

As for this “Expert,” I pick the Birds big.

The Jets don’t have the same defense they are normally known for and I see a big game from Shady. Add in Michael Vick feeling like he has something to prove and I see a 34-27 Eagles win.

Not everyone is on board with the 5-8 Eagles pulling this game out in large part because the Eagles have been downright dreadful at home recently.

“27-17 Jets. The Eagles have gone 1-5 at home this season and I'm not counting on them to buck that trend,” said Birds Nest blogger Brian Solomon.

Sales guy Corey hopes the beginning of the end of the Reid era could start this week.

As a lifelong Eagles fan, I can only hope that this is the week we can officially stick a fork in our 2011 Eagles.  Hopefully a loss will help up heave this coaching staff so we can let the rebuild begin in 2012. For the good of the team -- Jets 24, Eagles 20.”

Sports guy Dean is hoping to buck his own trend of losing streaks by picking against the Birds this week.

“The Eagles awful home record this season continues. Jets 20-17.”
