McNabb Joins NFL as Broadcaster

It's official. Former Eagles QB Donovan McNabb will join the NFL Network as an analyst for their Playbook show.

SportsBusiness Journal reporter Liz Mullen first reported last week that McNabb was close to inking a broadcast deal.

Donovan graduated from Syracuse with a degree in speech communications. NBC10's John Clark says broadcasting is a post-football future that McNabb has planned for and worked towards.

McNabb spent 11 seasons with the Eagles before going south on I-95 to the Redskins. There was definitely no bromance between McNabb and Redskins coach Mike Shanahan, so after a season, McNabb was traded to the Vikings. That went so well he got benched after going 1-5 as a starter.

Of course there is no mention of the "R" word (retirement) from McNabb yet but the move into the studio could mean old No. 5's days in the NFL are numbered.
