Tapp Puts Aside Football for Charity Softball This Weekend

Eagles defensive end is playing softball to raise some money this weekend

Eagles defensive end Darryl Tapp is teaming up with some current and former Birds to take on Delaware Valley News Personalities in a celebrity charity softball game that is sure to be fun for the whole family.

The day will be a great chance for fans to get close to their favorite football heroes and plenty of TV personalities and stars.

Proceeds from the game benefit the Darryl Tapp Family Foundation and ValueDiversity.org.

It all happens Sunday at RiverSharks Campbell Field on the Camden Waterfront. The game starts at 11 a.m. The free 100.3 The Beat tailgate gets going outside in the parking lot at 9 featuring face-painting, prizes and great giveaways.

Tapp will be joined by some current Eagles teammates and Eagles legends on the field.

It won't be a cakewalk for the Birds as the Delaware Valley News Personalities from NBC10, PHL17, Gannett, The Inquirer, WYSP, 100.3 The Beat and more team up to hopefully soar over the Birds.

The game is set to run until about 2 p.m. Tickets can be bought in advance for $10 or at the door for $15. For tickets call 1-866-sharks9 (742-7579) or 1-877-672-9638 and ask for Troy.

Plus come out to Glenn Mills, Pa. Saturday afternoon to see Tapp join the NBC10 Fighting Peacocks as they take on the Garretford-Drexel Hill Fire Department in the 3rd Annual Hero’s Scholarship Fund Softball Game,
