Eagles Bunkley Likely Done for the Season

It looks like another Eagles starter is headed for injured reserve.

Defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley left the first quarter of Sunday night’s Eagles 27-24 over the 49ers with an elbow injury.

On Monday coach Andy Reid confirmed the worst-case scenario on Howard Eskin’s 610-WIP radio show:

“Reid now on WIP and said Broderick Bunkley maybe out for year. Ligament damage in his elbow,” tweeted Eskin.

It looks like Bunkley will need surgery and will be joining fullback Leonard Weaver (knee), defensive end Rick Sapp (knee), safety Marlin Jackson (knee), safety Antoine Harris (foot) and center Jamaal Jackson (triceps) on the injured reserve list.

The Eagles could move seventh-round draft pick Jeff Owens from their practice squad to take Bunkley’s roster spot.

In other injury news -- starting left tackle Jason Peters has a little cartilage damage in his knee but could still possibly play, Reid told Eskin.
