Snooki to Christie: “We Don't Have to be From Jersey”

“Jersey Shore” cast responds to Governor Christie’s remarks

“Our show is about coming to the shore and having a good time. We don’t have to be from Jersey,” said Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi of MTV’s "Jersey Shore" on "Today" Thursday morning.

Over the weekend, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said in an interview that the show creates a negative image for New Jersey and that most of the cast is not even from the garden state.

The cast said the show is not about being from Jersey.

“It’s about vacation,” said Jenni "J-Wow" Farley.

“And if we can help out the pockets of New Jersey, that’s a bonus for us,” said castmember Vinny Guadagnino.

Another topic that came up was rumors about the cast asking for more money per episode.

“We don’t come here and think about money. We come here to party,” said Snooki.

“We were going to come back regardless, so it’s kind of like icing on the cake,” added J-Wow.

The cast was focused on partying during their second season of the show in Miami, which airs Thursday at 10 p.m. on MTV.

“The clubs can close at 6 a.m. so you’re partying all night long,” said DJ Pauly Delvecchio.

Jersey Shore is about a week into filming their third season in Seaside Heights.
