Aunyea Lachelle and Sheila Watko Join NBC10

Lachelle will serve as a lifestyle reporter; Watko will serve as a traffic reporter

NBC10 Philadelphia announced today that Aunyea Lachelle, lifestyle reporter, and Sheila Watko, traffic reporter, joined the station effective Monday, July 15.

"We are pleased to welcome Aunyea and Sheila to the NBC10 and Telemundo62 family," said Anzio Williams, vice president of news for NBC10 and Telemundo62. "Our viewers will benefit greatly from these accomplished journalists with Philly roots who can showcase our market well."

"I am beyond excited to join the NBC10 family and share stories about the wonderful entertainment that Philly has to offer," said Lachelle. "There's so much to do and see here, from music, food, sports, events ... we've got it all! I love covering local events and providing a platform for community nonprofits and others to highlight the positive work they are doing throughout the city."

Prior to joining NBC10, Lachelle served as a digital reporter and community engagement and multiplatform programming producer/coordinator for WPVI-TV. She also served as a brand ambassador for Burlington, hosting weekly video content on multiple digital platforms. Lachelle is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Lachelle earned her bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from West Chester University.

NBC10 News Today traffic reporter Sheila Watko shared, "I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such a talented, hardworking team on the station I grew up watching, NBC10. I’m excited to connect with the viewers and help them get out the door and onto the roads in the morning with as little hassle as possible." 

Prior to joining NBC10, Watko served as a traffic reporter for the Total Traffic & Weather Network and a radio announcer for New York’s New 102.7FM. She also spent more than three years as a photo researcher and was featured in sketches on NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers. Watko is passionate about intersectional women’s issues, environmentalism, and sustainability. Raised in Glenside, Montgomery County, Watko earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications from Loyola University Maryland.
