Sleep Well Kids, Expect Smooth Sailing for Santa

You can bet that Santa is paying extra special attention to the weather forecast Wednesday. After all, he and his reindeer have a big job to do.

Roughly 250,000 wish lists passed through the North Pole post office this year and many, many more lists were presented in person to the jolly good fellow.

When Santa and his team depart the North Pole, Rudolph's nose will come in handy, as snow showers will be falling. And Santa's round belly and red suit will keep him warm in frigid nine-degree temperatures. Brrrrr!

By the time Santa reaches the Philadelphia area, he will be able to roll up his sleeves. Temperatures will be relatively mild Wednesday night, staying in the upper 30's.

The Philly temps will be downright balmy compared to his hometown temperatures -- any lingering rain showers will come to an end before he hits area skies.

For Santa and his reindeer, the return trip home should be just as smooth out of Philadelphia. Christmas day will be cooler but mostly sunny.
