Freezing Rain Makes for Slippery Commute

Take it easy, because freezing rain is making the roads slick this Tuesday morning and causing problems for commuters.

The NE Extension northbound is closed between the PA Turnpike and Lansdale due to the jackknifed tractor trailer. Alt: RT-309.

Right now, rain is falling in Philadelphia and it's freezing on impact. To the north and west, snow is falling.

A winter storm warning is in effect for parts of the region on Tuesday and Wednesday. The storm is organizing in the middle of the country and as it develops, it should bring in a lot of moisture.

Philadelphia, Wilmington, Reading and Lancaster should expect one inch or less of snow and ice.

Allentown and parts of Mt. Pocono should expect one to three inches of snow as well as ice.

Atlantic City, Dover and Cape May should expect snow changing to rain.

The wintry mix should taper off Tuesday night, but there's a chance of even more sleet and freezing rain on Wednesday.
