It's Finally Feeling Like Fall

RAIN ARRIVES JUST IN TIME

Last weekend it felt like we had finally kicked summer out for good, but this week the 70s came roaring back. A cold front will drop temperatures around 15 degrees from Friday to Saturday. That cold front will bring rain, but it will clear out just in time. Even your Friday night plans should be fine.

JACKET TIME FOR THE FESTIVALS

Two big festivals will be here this weekend, Old City Fest and OutFest. If you leave your house in the morning, you may be shocked to find 45 degree temps. By festival time, we’ll be in the mid-60s, with a high of 67, which is right around where we should be this time of year.

SPEAKING OF NORMAL

Temperatures being way above average have made a big change to the foliage map. Sure the Poconos have some nice color this weekend, they’re around 25 percent of peak, but if you want to see the trees really pop, you’ll need to head up to the Adirondacks in New York or Green and White Mountains in Vermont and New Hampshire.

Don’t expect an all-time foliage year, our lack of rainfall has muted the colors somewhat. Peak for the Poconos should be next weekend into the following week, and our leaves in and around Philadelphia should turn around Halloween.
