Excessive Heat Closes Philly, Camden Schools

The Philadelphia School District is dismissing students at 1:30 p.m., Camden at 1 p.m.

Students in Philadelphia and across the river in Camden had Mother Nature to thank for an early dismissal Tuesday afternoon.

The Philadelphia School District is dismissing students at 1:30 due to the excessive heat. The dismissal includes early childhood programs. All afterschool programs will be cancelled as well.

Routine transportation will be available for all students.

Camden Schools are letting out at 1 p.m., the district announced on its website.

Other schools were also letting out early due to the steamy weather.
