Big Rig Crash Closes Route 202

A tractor-trailer crash caused a traffic mess for hours this morning in Chester County.

It’s unclear how the big rig went up on the barrier along U.S. Route 202 northbound near Conestoga Road (Route 401) in Frazer, Pa. around 5:45 a.m. Tuesday.

The crash, and subsequent fuel spill, caused officials to close Route 202 at the U.S. Route 30 interchange for nearly three hours.

As SkyForce10 hovered overhead, you could see the big rig titled at an angle along the road.

Police let the vehicles stuck behind the crash to sneak by the left lane but otherwise the road was closed so that the crash could be cleaned up. The roadway reopened around 8:40 a.m.

The traffic jam spread onto surrounding roadways including the Route 30 bypass where drivers were going the wrong way down the on-ramp to escape the jam.

No injuries were reported.
