SEPTA Names New GM

SEPTA has its new leader.

The transit agency's board of directors selected Jeffrey Kneuppel, the current deputy general manager, to replace General Manager Joseph M. Casey, who is set to depart after the papal visit.

Casey, who has lead the transit agency since 2008, will retire on Sept. 30 after 34 years with SEPTA in various roles. His last day will follow the weekend of Pope Francis’ visit to Philadelphia – an event that has put the spotlight on the transit agency and its ability to plan for the huge influx of visitors.
