Road Closed After Crash Near Wawa, Woman Hurt

A bad crash between a tractor-trailer and sedan left an area roadway closed for nearly two hours this morning and one person hurt.

U.S. Route 130 southbound at Cove Road (near a busy Wawa store) in Pennsauken, N.J. was closed around 5:20 a.m. Wednesday after a crash that left a woman temporarily trapped.

The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Cooper University Hospital, according to authorities on the scene.

The big rig driver didn't appear seriously hurt.

Investigators on the scene told NBC10's Monique Braxton that the woman and the big rig were both headed southbound on Route 130 (N Crescent Boulevard) when the truck, which wasn't carrying a load, slowed down to turn right on Bethel Avenue. The sedan then slammed into the rear of the big rig.

The force of the wreck smashed in the front end of the sedan.

By 6:15 a.m. crews began to clear the car from the scene.

NBC10's Jillian Mele said Westfield Avenue is a good route around the scene.

The roadway finally reopened just before 7 a.m.
