Train Strikes, Kills Man

Commuters dealt with delays after a man was struck and killed by a train this morning.

The man was struck by a northbound SEPTA West Trenton Regional Rail train just north of the Philmont station in Huntingdon Valley, Pa. around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The 56-year-old man, who wasn’t identified, died, according to SEPTA spokeswoman Kristin Geiger.

Outbound and inbound service on the West Trenton line was delayed up to an hour and at least one train Trenton-bound was canceled as police investigated the scene, according to SEPTA.

After about three hours service returned to normal on the West Trenton line.
