Overturned Big Rig Blocks Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bucks County

After an accident on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, in Bensalem, Bucks County both westbound lanes reopened Friday afternoon. (Published Friday, Oct. 16, 2015)

A tractor-trailer overturned in a five-vehicle collision that left the westbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bucks County closed for more than an hour Friday afternoon.

The wreck happened near the Route 1 Exit (Interchange 351) in Bensalem around 2:15 p.m.

One person suffered non-deadly injuries, said Pennsylvania State Police.

A minivan and at least one car appeared to also be involved along with two other vehicles.

Crews worked to upright the big rig and clean up a small amount of oil that spilled onto the roadway, said police.

Traffic began flowing again by 3:45 p.m. as the uprighted truck sat on the shoulder of the roadway.
