Car Slams Into Pole, Driver Flees

The reason for a crooked utility pole was pretty obvious to investigators but the person responsible is a bit more tricky to figure out.

An out-of-control sedan slammed into a utility pole along Ogontz Avenue near Fisher Street in Philadelphia's Olney section around 5 a.m.

When police responded to the scene they found the heavily damaged car, disjointed headlights flashing, smashed into a utility pole but the driver was nowhere to be found.

Police didn't reveal if they knew who was responsible for the crash.

The crash didn't appear to cause any major electricity problems and as of 8:30 a.m. PECO reported no outages in the city.

Anyone with information should contact Philadelphia Police.
