If you’re taking the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge this holiday weekend you may need to bring some extra cash for the tolls. A lightning strike has temporarily disabled the EZ-Pass electronic system.
Thousands of people use the bridge on a daily basis and the traffic numbers usually go up around holidays like Independence Day Weekend.
Workers are trying to repair the damage caused by the strike and had one of the EZ-Pass tollbooths back online Friday morning but the other six were accepting cash only.
Be prepared to pay the two bucks to get across the bridge for the holiday. Heck, the drive to the shore is already expected to take up to four hours for the Fourth of July weekend, why not add a couple extra minutes?
