No more fumbling with tokens -- SEPTA is making it even easier to pay to ride.

A Friday morning news conference previewed the launch of the SEPTA Key "Early Adopter" program beginning Monday. A demonstration of how riders can purchase key cards was included.

The new system is a part of a SEPTA modernization project and the key card system will replace other outdated fare instruments, like tokens and paper tickets.

During the "Early Adopter" phase, SEPTA says up to 10,000 customers will have the chance to get a key card with the purchase of their weekly or monthly TransPass at select locations.
