Tax day has come at warp speed this year and some people have yet to file taxes -- maybe it’s because they want to save that pain for the last possible moment.
At any rate some local and national businesses are trying to ease the pain of forking over all that cash to Uncle Sam.
Cinnabon
Not to be left out of the running for best Tax day freebies, Cinnabon is giving two free cupcake bites to their customers from 6 to 8 p.m. With flavors like Cinnacake Classic, Chocolate Passion and 24-Carrot Cake these treats are sure to put you in a sugar coma good enough to make you forget all about your taxes.
IHOP
If you want to end April 15 on a savory note, IHOP is offering a delicious deal on kids’ meals. Kids eat free everyday from 4 to 10 p.m. until the end of April. You have to buy an adult entrée for the discount to count. There is nothing better than some fluffy pancakes for dinner to make even the biggest tax troubles melt away like butter.
Papa John’s
If you already paid your taxes and are still feeling the money crunch it left behind Papa John’s has just the thing to make your wallet happy. With their “Pro-Crust-Inators” online promotion you can type in “1040” as a promo code and get a large pizza with up to three toppings for $10.40. The best part of this offer, well other than the pizza, is that it lasts from until midnight on April 15.
McCormick and Schmicks
The seafood restaurant is having a two-fer special in honor of tax day. April 15 kicks off their Tax Relief Celebration, two days of discounted seafood bliss. On Thursday diners can enjoy $10.40 dinner and drink specials all evening. Bar guests will also receive a $10.40 gift certificate to use on their next visit. April 16 is Tax Preparers Appreciation day. If you present your valid business card you will receive a free dessert with the purchase of any entrée and you also get a $10.40 gift certificate. Now that's a refund.
P.F. Chang’s
They are offering a form of tax relief as well this week. Visit on April 15 and receive a 15-percent discount on all food purchases no matter if your dining out or in. No Printing out coupons, no filling out forms. Just show up hungry and P.F. Chang’s will take care of the rest. This offer isn’t valid on beverages or happy hour specials.
Maggie Moo’s
Head to your local Maggie Moo’s to get a free sample of their new ice cream pizza from 3 to 7 p.m. at participating locations. It may be a little bit of a journey to get there but the Maggie Moo’s in Lancaster, Pa. is participating in the giveaway. There is a limit of one per customer, so sorry folks no double dipping.
Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants
Every part of paying taxes is not all doom, gloom and being broke. Some get to enjoy the fruits of their labor from the year before and what better way to do that than relaxing at a swanky hotel. Hotel Palomar, a part of Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants, is offering a Sweet Tax Relief Package valid until April 30. The package includes perks like deluxe accommodations, a grab bag filled with sweets and the hotel will pay the taxes on your room. You can also eat at any of their accompanying restaurants and have the hotel cover the taxes for you meal.
No matter how you decide to spend Tax Day there are plenty of discounts and deals to keep your mind off paying taxes -- well at least until next year.
