Chic, Eco-Friendly & Brand New

Check out the Hotel Palomar in Rittenhouse Square

There is a new place to get your chic on when you stay in Rittenhouse.

What used to be the Architects Building at 17th and Sansom in Rittenhouse Square was transformed into the self-proclaimed trendy, modern and luxurious Hotel Palomar.

The Art Deco getaway offers 230 guestrooms, each with a 37-inch flat-screen TV. Add to that the state-of-the-art gym and spa, complimentary coffee and tea in the morning and a complimentary wine bar in the evening (both located in the "living room" lobby) and you got quite the place. And, we forgot to mention the new restaurant called Square 1682.

The renovation of the newest Kimpton Hotel took 20-months and cost about $93 million -- it was the only scheduled hotel opening in the city this year but it definitely sounded like a special one.

Don't be fooled by all the amazing amenities -- the building was artfully designed and received LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, according to the Palomar people.

The hotel's earth-friendly practices include using non-toxic cleaning products, energy-efficient lighting, in-room recycling bins and they even used tile made from recycled glass along with other green building materials, according to their Web site.

Want more? The boutique hotel is also pet-friendly, so you don't need to leave those furry loved ones behind on your travels.

Thinking that you'll never be able to afford a stay in a place like this? Think again. Rooms start at as little as $160 a night.
