As if we didn't already know just how expensive the Main Line is, now, it's been confirmed -- Radnor Township has been named the sixth most expensive suburb in the country by BusinessWeek.

Just 18 miles north of Philadephia, the median home price in Radnor is $523,500.

Not surprisingly, a California suburb took the number one spot, but it wasn't Beverly Hills or Malibu. Atherton, about 10 miles northwest of Stanford, is a community of mansions between the San Fran Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Home to Charles Schwab and Google head Eric Schmidt, the median home price is $3.8 million.

Highland Park, Texas (median home price $937,500), Scarsdale, New York ($1.23 million), Pinecrest, Florida ($767,650) and Winnetka, Illinois with a median home price of $1.06 million round out the top five.

Results were based on where expenses like mortgage and utility payments, property tax, health care, home prices, clothing, food and beverage were highest.
