Any restaurant that decides its logo should be a mythical creature that is half rabbit, half pig is okay by us. Pub & Kitchen, the very straightforwardly-named hot spot in Rittenhouse, has devised such a beast, known as the "pabbit" to represent it to the outside world.
While we love us a porcine hybrid, there are other things to love at Pub & Kitchen -- including a killer burger, whitefish rollmops and a fine example of fish-n-chips. While Jon "Jonny Mac" McDonald's menu is mostly comfort food, the talented chef gets to flex his culinary chops now and then with a special wine dinner, like the one the tavern is hosting this Wednesday, May 20.
Four seasonally-inspired courses, from halibut served with fiddlehead ferns to a strawberry rhubarb pie, are paired with four wines from Oregon and California for $55, plus tax and tip. Drink enough of that American wine and you just may spy the elusive pabbit.
