If you’re tired of the mayhem that surrounds Wing Bowl every year and you want to compete in a wing eating competition that is worthwhile, Shank Bowl is just that competition.
“The area is getting hit with missiles almost everyday from Gaza and this indoor recreation center is a safe haven for the people to go to be protected from the attacks,” said JNF campaign executive Rachel Baum.
As of right now, there are close to 15 eaters signed up for the kosher wing eating competition -- that includes NBC Philadelphia's own Dan Stamm -- but there is still plenty of room for those of you who would like to be the next Takeru Kobayashi. Plus, the first 100 people to register for $36 by March 10 will get a free ticket to Helium Comedy Club.
Eaters will be split up into male and female groups to keep the contest fair and there will be a winner from both groups.
If you'd rather watch a great competition than eat to the point of barfing, Shank Bowl has something for you, too. Prizes will be given away throughout the evening for the non-eaters in the crowd.
Participants will be awarded a cash prize donated by Venmo.com and the bragging rights that come along with being the queen and king of the kosher wing.
