No Excuses

Slackers can still get credit this Valentine's Day weekend

The good thing about Valentine's Day falling on a weekend is that if you're smart, you can turn procrastination into a weekend of love for your special someone. While you're not going to find an available table at any Philly restaurant by now, we have one word for you: Friday.

Many restaurants around town are offering their Valentine's Day prix-fixes on both weekend nights and are looking at half-full reservation books for Friday. For instance, Chef Chris Scarduzio at Table 31 in the Comcast Center has put together aphrodisiac menu specials on both nights to put you and your sweetie in the mood. The menu features oysters, lobster, chocolate-dipped strawberries and Godiva martinis. Diners will also receive complimentary glasses of champagne and a rose.

After such a romantic meal, you might be perfectly content to spend the rest of the weekend at home.
