Liven Up Your Holiday “Spirits”

If you're hosting a holiday party we're here to help. We have some drink recipes to brighten up your holiday spirits. And these aren't your grandma's whiskey sours!

Mixologist, Tim Laird, gave us some simple drink recipes that look great and we're betting they taste even greater!

"First, you want to start with the perfect spirits that allow you the easiest mix-ability," said Laird. "I recommend using tequila and vodka-based drinks because both are crowd favorites, plus by adding a few simple ingredients to these bases, you can make tasty, colorful holiday cocktails."

The perfect Margarita base

1 1/2 oz. Herradura Silver
 tequila
1 oz.  fresh lime juice

1 oz. simple syrup

Vodka base

1 1/2 oz. Finlandia Vodka

1/2 oz. orange liqueur

Now that you have your "bases" covered, you add the festive part.  For instance, you can add 1 1/2 ounces of the following ingredients to make the colors of the season: pomegranate juice for red, melon liqueur for green, blue-raspberry mix or
Blue Curacao for blue, and apple cider for gold. You can also float pomegranates, cranberries, or blueberries in the glass.

Check out this video from Mixologist, Tim Laird to see exactly how it is done.

Cheers!
