Hurry Up and Get to the Slow Food Fundraiser

Pig out at a pig roast for a purpose

We'll take any excuse to eat roast pork, but if it's for a good cause, that makes us feel even better.

Slow Food Philly, the local chapter of the international grassroots organization that supports that "links the pleasure of food with a commitment to community and the environment" is giving us a perfect excuse to go hog-wild on Saturday, May 30 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. when it hosts its annual Pig Roast Fundraiser in the courtyard of the Philadelphia Brewing Company in Kensington.

$38 gets you in the door -- tickets are available for purchase in advance -- where you can feast to your heart's content on a whole pig roasted Italian-style, plus side dishes and vegetarian options prepared by Rx restaurant. You are, of course, at a brewery, so you'll able to wash it all down with fresh beers from PBC.
