Bredenbeck's Bakery & Ice Cream Parlor: The Art of Icing

Just window shopping at the Chestnut Hill's Bredenbeck's Bakery can be a treat. You never know what work of dessert art you’ll see and some of their creations seem hard to believe. The Phillie Phanatic, with loads of green “fur” icing is a show-stopping work of confectionary art and would be the perfect centerpiece to any Phils party (it feeds 80). But you don’t need to feed a banquet to enjoy Bredenbeck's baking. Even their simple yet elegant classic chocolate iced yellow cupcake is a decadent delight.

The Bredenbeck family baking tradition has continued for over a century. Now, you can learn to make your own bakery masterpieces from the experts. The bakery is offering Girls Night Out and VIP Parties where you and a group of friends can learn the ropes of cake decorating. One of the best parts of these baking parties is that you get to enjoy the dessert and leave the clean-up to somebody else.

A few decades ago, Bredenbeck's added an old-fashioned ice cream parlor next to the bakery where you can enjoy a flavorful selection of hand-dipped ice cream and soft-serve frozen yogurt. It’s the perfect place to recharge after touring the shops of Chestnut Hill.
